RSVP & guests
Collect event RSVPs directly on WhatsApp
WhatsApp RSVP software for event planners: send the RSVP request, track who replied, and remind the guests who have not — all from the guest list you already keep.
RSVP requests go out on WhatsApp, not into an inbox
Your guests already read WhatsApp. Lighter sends the RSVP request there, through the Official WhatsApp Business API, as an approved template message — sent from the server rather than from someone’s browser, so the access token never leaves your account and the message actually delivers.
The reply comes back against the guest’s record. Nobody transcribes anything into a spreadsheet afterwards.
Setup is your own WhatsApp Business API access — a phone number ID, an access token and an approved template name, entered once in Settings. Messages go out from your own business number. Because this is the Official API, they are template messages rather than free-form chat. Available on the Enterprise plan.
Manage your guest lists in one place
One guest list per event, not one spreadsheet per function. Each guest carries the details that decide catering, seating and rooms.
- Side and group name — bride’s side, groom’s side, office, family
- Plus-ones, so the headcount is the real headcount
- Meal preference on the record, not in a WhatsApp reply
- Accommodation required, flagged per guest
- Which functions each guest is attending
- Import an existing list from a spreadsheet with your own column names
Or share an RSVP link
Not everything has to go out over WhatsApp. Each event can publish an RSVP form the guest opens in a browser — with only the fields you asked for: phone, email, meal preference, plus-ones, accommodation, and the functions they plan to attend.
You write the form’s title, message and thank-you text. Responses land on the same guest records as the WhatsApp replies.
Send RSVP reminders to the guests who have not replied
Filter the list to the guests still pending, select them, and send the reminder. This is the part that usually happens at midnight in a group chat, and it is the part that decides your final numbers.
Each guest record then shows that the invite went out and when — so nobody gets reminded twice, and nobody gets missed.
Know who has responded — and who has not
RSVP status sits on the guest record and rolls up per event and per function. Pending guests are a filter, not an afternoon of cross-referencing.
